binding transfer case
i have a 06 2500 cummins obviously 6 speed manual... in 4 wheel HI or LO and i turn the truck bucks and jerks like crazy..now it has done this since new but its aggrvating... if im out mudding and i wann amake a tight turn or if its really wet and slick out and i wanna run in 4 wheel it goes nuts in turns... is there anything wrong or something i can do.... now im a certified bonified justifyed VW tech for quite a while now... and on the VW toureg...hate to mention this POS in this forum but i must.... they had issues with tire scrubing and binding locking jerking on tight turns.. now first vw told us to do a computer flash for the 4 wheel drive control module which never did the trick so we figured out to just replace the stepper motor which controled the 4 wheel hi and lo in the tranfer case i guess the motor would cause to much tension in the driveline causeing the jerkling.. now im getting the SAME EXACT concern but 10 times worse.. it bucks this big *** truck line no bodys buisness... now i wanna clear it up if possible before i get my lift and bigger tires which will prolly make it worse... any ideas out there.... alos do u know of a decent dodge dealer with a good deisel teck in the chicago area? still havent been able to fix that turbo chirping..... so i wanna take it in... and i dont want them to complain cuz i have a intake on it......
I think if you have any kind a traction its gonna jerk because the transfer case does not differenciate between front and rear. Front and rear output shafts on the transfer case turn at the same speed when in 4 wheel drive. It will jerk during a turn because the rear wheels take a shorter path. Kevin
