there is no difference between Shell premium Diesel and any other stations regular Diesel. . .it is all #2. what Shell is refering to is the difference between #1 and #2. #1 is used mostly for home heating fuel and in the winter a little of it is mixed in with #2 to lower the cloud point of diesel.

Still a little confused as to how many gallons your brew is rated to treat Drew. Would the mix be the same for 25 gallons ( usually about how much my tank gets )?

16/8 treats 32~34 so you could probably adjust by -25% and be good ... 12/6 should be fine... more isnt going to hurt it.

That's what I was wondering. I've been using the same mix that he reccomends, but I was starting to worry that maybe I was hurting something since my mileage took a dump. Last time checked ( last week ) all I got was 13.15. Pretty effing sad.

Did they change something in these 5.9's over the years that makes THAT much of a difference? I hear you guy's getting 17-18 mpg and I'm in the low 13's. What gives? I'm sure you guy's drive pretty much the same way I do.

Well I was looking at the fuel mileage post ( probably where we should take this convo .... LOL ) and at the very top is a poll showing what everyone is getting. I'm in the 13-14 range and it shows right there that I AM pretty far off from what the average is.

I haven't seen any posts on a good supplier of the best price for PSD & MMO. Where do you think is the best places to make the purchase? I've never purchased PSD but I get MMO by the gallon for around $18 at a local Auto parts store.

Wamart is the best source for both... PSD is about $15 & MMO is about $12~13 bux.

I started using it right off the lot, first tank, 6K and no problems yet.
