Mbaz,

You are correct the block heater in installed at the factory you just have to buy the cord to it if it didn't come with one. Mine was $34 & tax at the stealership. Drew said if you get one from Cummins it's a lot less.

Why the hell wouldn't they include the damn cord. That's the stupidest thing I've heard all week.

Mayfair,

That is a good darn question on why some dealers do and some don't order it with one, as it's only a $10.00 option if they order it with one.

For me it was buy one with power adjustable pedals for the lady of the house or one with a block heater cord. Can you guess what I chose?

Mine came with this option, it's on my window sticker. I don't see where the cord is located? Should this have been provided to me at the dealer or is it under the hood some where. This is on an '06 Quad THNX

Qwkness

It should be on the pass side of the truck by the headlight. It is possable that they left it coiled up near the oil filter, if you can not find it then take the window sticker back to your dealer and make him show you where it's at or make him put one on it as you paid for it to be their.

that cord doesnt look like what I'd expect to be plugging into mine... mine looks like a regular female 3 prong receptical. can you give me a pic of both ends up close?

does anyone know how much current it draws?

damn, that's alot... maybe it's best to have it on a timer so it kicks on about 15~20 minutes before departure...??? I'm thinking of getting mine setup for winter time here... my CTD takes about 10 miles before it's up to temp in the summer, winter would be worse.

good thing we have nothing but CFL's thru-out the house
