Default Help me write the check for my first CTD!

Ok, I think I've found it!

03' 2500 SLT 4dr 4x4 SB, HO 48RE, 3.73 w/LSD, prem cloth w/ power driver seat, fold flat rear floor, tow package, fog lights, fold out power tow mirrors, tekonsha prodigy brake controller, oem chrome bug guard and grill inserts, oem splash guards, sliding rear window, oem slush mats, oem nerf bars, oem window vents, power wagon wheels with newer BFG's, spray in bed liner.

43k miles, good & documented service history, super clean grey with grey interior. Other than missing the electric shift tcase, this is EXACTLY what I am looking for, and I've been looking for awhile which is why my search has expanded so far.

Problem is, the lowest price I can get is $26,600 plus a plane ticket and a 1000+ mile drive home. Granted, NADA and KBB are up around that price, real world sales seem to be much lower.

Should I quit being a pansy and jump on the deal, or hold out for a better value (and something closer)? I need to make a decision tomorrow.

If you really want a truck, yes!

If you don't want to lay out that kinda cash and still want a Cummins truck, better start looking at a some older ones.

gvb,

26K sounds about rite. Nice lookin truck too. Is this from a dealer or private seller? Looks like the previous owner was a member of the TDR (another forum). Either that or he just came across Genos Garage. I can see the condensor guard through the grille.

http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....ber=MPC-GRILLE

Chances are good they took real good care of it.

If your in the market to spend 26K then I cant think of a better way to spend it. That CTD will outlast, outhaul, and outpull any new truck you pay the same for.

Plus if this is a one owner truck the full (7/70 for the truck and 100K for the engine) warrenty wil transfer to you for about $100 bucks.

Good luck!

depends on how long you've been looking. right after i bought mine, several poped up that would have been awesome, including a blue one which would have been my 1st choice in color. It is a nice looking truck, definately worth a look.

what is an oem window vent?

is this from a private party?

Steve00,

Man your not kiddin about trucks poppin up. I looked (seriously) for about a month. Dif. dealers, dif. states (seriously looking).

Found one close to home. One of three on the lot with what I (mostly) wanted. They were given 10K off plus rebates so I jumped.

2 weeks later the exact one (color and package) that I had been looking for popped up on there lot. I was a little upset couse the dealer new what I was looking for.

C'est la vie.

The main things I missed out on were the color (I wanted silver and got red) and the sunroof.

GVB,

Still a good Q is if this truck is a dealer of private seller. If its private you could prob get it even cheaper. Another thought would be to check area inventory for '05's. There are some still out there and they will be lookin to really deal on those. I found a couple of '05 Grand Cherokee Limiteds (fully loaded) for 31K (sticker @ 45K)

But bottom line is that there out there so if this truck doesnt "do it for ya" all the way dont settle.

It's from a private party, but he had it listed at $28k... WAY high, and this is the lowest I could get him.

I think I am going to hold off for now, and keep looking around unless he wants to come down on the price quite a bit.
