Default RE: Stupid question about engine block heater.

ORIGINAL: Dodge This

I just put mine on and all was good till I got an engine light, but that looks like a battery sensor. I plug on the block had a black cap on it. Its real easy to install. The only question is on the cord it has plastic taps to secure the cord to something but they dont line up with anything. Just make sure the dont rub on anything.
Okay, got mine installed. Once I found where it plugged in, only took a couple minutes. I was able to find where one of the plastic taps secures. I realized that the cord is meant to go straight down and run under the truck, just above the frame (past the alternator) then straight to the front. If you look at the front with the hood open, you'll see that there is a plastic hook on the left designed to secure the plug, running from bottom to top. Anyways, get under the front of your truck and look at the rear of the passenger headlight. Follow your eyes to the left and there is a small drilled hole. Voila, lines up perfectly with one of taps on the cord. I wasn't able to find the second hole, probably because its towards the middle of the engine where I can't reach.

Expert tip: remove the turbo air intake.. makes the install of the cord much much easier.
