silencer ring question!
I have a 06 ram with full K&N air intake system installed and reading about the silencer ring sent me on a journey to remove it. Since it's shaped the way it is and installed to cover the open dead gap pockets behind it, I'm wondering if it's there to only to steer the air directly into to turbo fan instead of the air entering the dead pockets and then getting sucked out into the turbo. Just a thought. Any help?
I came very close to tearing into mine a couple weeks ago but then got going on something else instead. This is something that I'd also like to hear more about. My F250 had a pretty insane turbo whistle & now that it's gone, I've gotta do something to get some whistle back in my daily intake. The pictures of it are easily found using the "search" feature but I'm curious just how much whistle can be had

It's only there for one reason, to silence the whistle. It affects nothing else.
