315/70/17 Verses 285/70/17 BFG'S

RE: 315/70/17 Verses 285/70/17 BFG'S
In order to keep out of trouble, I drive a gasser like a granny - slow starts mostly. But if I step on it with the CTD, the mileage gets better. It doesn't like to be babied...(stepping on it with a gasser generally makes the mileage get worse, while the inverse is seeming to be the rule with the diesel)

RE: 315/70/17 Verses 285/70/17 BFG'S
I'm at a point where I just can't decide on whether to go with the 315/70/17or the 285/70/17 BFG'S. When I first bought my 04 Ram 1500 I immediately switched to 33" Mickey Thompson Baja tires. I've had about enough of them now and have always had trouble with one wearing improperly. I have room for a 35" which I assume would be the 315, the cost is not a factor because the difference is only $80.00 for a set of four. Does anyone have a pic of each of them on a truck, to see the difference?

I know Buckwheat has 295-70-17's on his truck, they look good and IIRC he says they dont rub.
I personally have 325-60-18 Pro Comp Xtreme AT's on mine and love them. they are wearing really well and evenly. Currently I have 50k on my truck and have had them on since about 17~18k and bought them with about 1000 miles on them (used). I highly recommend them. I posted pics of them not too long ago, 3~4 weeks back when comparing them to another set I picked up with only 2500 miles on them. do a search for me as the author & Pro comp Xtreme and you should find the thread...

I had the 315/70-17's put on stock rims today. I think it looks awesome. I also haven't noticed much rub yet, but then again they've only been on for 4 hours. I will take pics and post tomorrow. I don't have a lift yet so if there are some measurements you want, give me a shout and I will get them for you.

Caytos,
Nice, I put the same tires on my truck yesterday also, I like them allot better than the Mickey Thompson Baja's I had. here's a pic of mine, dirty right now, but you can still see. I had to take mine back twice for an air leak until they found they installed a faulty valve stem.

I had 35x12.50 17" wheels on my truck for awhile. I went to the 285's and I like them. The 35" made the truck look a little better. Like stated above. The mileage will be a little better with the 285. With my Bank's six gun w/PDA I see adifference in power take offs w/285's.
