I think the general concensus was for you to get your new Ram NOW, before all of the emissions crap comes out. If your looking to wait though, I guess wait a few years until they have all of the kinks worked out.

yeah was thinking that no big deal just you all split up teh cost of a new truck and we will be fine.

i figure 1500 each and we will be fine.

Well so after reading all this still no closer if I should wait till 2008 or 09 to make sure no problems on teh new engine and tranny.

Personally, I dont like version one of most anything (especially if it costs $40K) unless I'm feeling particularly masochistic. I did get my '06 (instead of an '07) just for this reason. I also wanted to more easily "enhance" the power output of my baby in the future and thats going to be a bit harder with the '07s and up as they will just generally be much more complex and computer monitored.

All that said, I would also trust a Cummins/Dodge over Ford or Chevy any day (and I'm a Die hard Ford guy) if you really want to wait for the new '07 style engines but i'd still wait for and '08 or later if i could.

As far as the rest of my '06. They changed to a new wiring/networking system from the '05's. It seems to be pretty good so the bugs should be worked out of that.

Thats my $1500 dollars for ya. [sm=grinangel.gif]

I think the 06 is the way to go. Less emmisions and a proven motor. Thats why I got my 06.
