at the bottom left of the pic is the origional CP3 injector pump that came stock on the truck(but more chances than none it was replaced with a higher output unit). On the top of the engine you see a silver tube, that is the upper coolant hose, under that hose is another CP3 to supply even more fuel. the only downside I see of this design is it is belt driven and not gear driven.

some high HP guys are haveing to go this route since they have huge sticks with duration and pressure boxes causeing the fuel rail to run low on pressure. When this happens the engine looses power. All this setup is doing is doubling up on the fuel supply. the Isuzu Duramax engine uses the exact same injection system as our trucks, however the CP3 is a hair different allowing it to draw its own fuel from the tank. The Cummins has one rail with 6 ports, the Isuzu engine has two rails, one for each bank, from there they plumb a CP3 into each rail with a crossover tube to help equalize pressures to maintain engine performance if the pumps dont run the same pressure.

none of us here are anywhere close to needing a setup like this, the stock CP3 is more than capable of fueling to around 700+hp, I dont have the cash to make that much power[8D]

also if you look at the fuel rail, the thing right above the fuel filter, you will see something that looks like a deep well socket turned inside out. that is the pop off valve. it realeases pressure on the rail if the pressure goes above 23-26,000 psi. once that thing pops just once it has to be replaced and costs around $220+ from the dealer. a good indication of that thing being bad is low power and the engine stumbling at rpm's above 2000.

this is why I dont care much for pressure boxes.
