Reading this post, as well as an article in the LV Review Journal about Metro and NHP beginning to monitor stolen vehicles from the air, made me look into LOJACKing my 04 Ram CTD.

I've already lost one vehicle to thieves (in Sacramento CA about 10 years ago) and I don't want to repeat that process again.

 

DOH! Didn't read all the way through. Got the Vet plate now. I'll keep an eye open here.

Just thought I would update you on the status of my truck.
IT HAS BEEN RECOVERED!!!!!!!!
That's right they pulled an out of town idiot over for expired tags and they didn't match the vehicle. Upon further investigation they saw that the vehicle had the door handle broken out and the ignition pulled out.
There is plenty of damage done to the truck but i'm not sure if it's enough to total the poor thing. Most of it's cosmetic damage and nothing to serious. It's going to need a new coat of paint over most of the truck and some of the interior pieces replaced. I am not sure about the drivetrain since I did not start or try driving it. I will keep you guys posted and let you know what the insurance says.

I know it sucks that some of your stuff got broken, but it's definately better than never seeing the truck again.
