Default Walmart Diesel?

Filled my tank up at Walmart yesterday for the first time. Anyone had any problems with their fuel at all? I ask because of the price...

Currently:

$2.21 at Walmart (even cheaper if you use a walmart card)
$2.43 at truck stops
$2.69 at the major gas stations

Yes, thats right, $2.21, I couldn't believe it either. That's the cheapest I've seen Diesel since I've owned my truck. There was another dodge owner filling up at the pump across from me. He said he always fills up at Walmart because it's the cheapest diesel in the state (Indiana). He also said he has had to drain the water a few times, but it's worth it.

To me, this would say it all. I'm personally not a big fan of water in my fuel

I saw a story on the news last night about Home Depot selling all this other stuff. They say that they are doing this to attract more business b/c the cost of housing is going down and its affecting peoples desire to remodel and do home improvements.

I guess being able to buy a bag of cheeos will somehow make people want to buy 2x4's and paint brushes.

FOR MY 2CTS WORTH.

Being in the Small service station business, we sold diesel and gasoline for 23 years, we started as a Mobil non contracted station, after buying our fuel at a premium price we shopped it and found we could buy diesel for 10-20 cents less per gallon by buying non branded fuel, so we bought non branded fuel and sold at the Mobile sign although it was could of been Mobile fuel, it pissed off the Mobil Rep and they pulled our Mobil sign and insignias down. And we went with Alliance fuel.
When we bought fuel from the supplier the price would vary, if the supplier was in a hurry he would buy at the higher price line, if he had time he would wait in the lower price line, and it all came out of the same spigot, we would ask the drive what kind of fuel are you dropping today, his answer would be from Shell, Texaco, Unico all premium fuels just sold at a different name.
We would check our fuel for water once a week, by dipping the tank stick with a blue paste on the end of the stick, if it turned red there was water at the bottom, the pick up for the pump is high enough so you would have to have 300 gallons before water would enter the dispensing pump. So freaking out is for the uninformed, condensation can happen right in your own truck tank. So fill up at your best price and drive away, I have been buying by price all my life and not by brand. Save yourself some money!
Darrell
