I was thinking of using fiberglass, I have some laying around from a boat project. Should be able to sand it down smooth and paint. Only problem is getting it shaped.
I did something like that a long time ago, I used "closed cell foam" a chunk about a foot by a foot to start with, then an electric knife to carve it done to size and shape, and when I had it that was the mold.

Had to remeber to make the foam a little smaller to account for the glass and resin.

Good luck with it

So I called them , and the dude will not even take my call , told his girl is to busy and he will call me back. sheeezzz , I thought that my job was a big one and worth a minute of there time,.

Still no word,
Ralph

Nope , I have not given them a deposit , they are generaly great guys, and they do do outstanding work and I have never had to take anything back for rework, ( se my sig about my 02 they did it all) ,
That is the problem around here, they are the only ones that I know of around here, and I think they know it also, you would think in a city the size of GTA ( nearly 9 million peeps) that there would be others but heck I can not find any.

I have just heard from my son, he called them as I had asked him to, and they took his call, everything is in, so I will be dropping the truck off there on the way in to work in the AM, so I guess yeehaa's are on order, I will be pullling another lighter trail about 600 miles on Thursday so it will be good to have all that done prior ( just trying to break in that CTD LOL )

Jakebrake

custom audio shops will first make a frame for something like what your wanting out of wood, like pressboard. First round off all the corners, then coat it with resin, add a layer of that fabric fiberglass, another caot of resin and sand it all smooth. Add a little body filler, prime and paint, and it looks like it was meant to be there. It's alot of work, but it looks really, really good when finished.
