Opinions (possible purchase)
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT 4X4 Diesel quad cab. Banks High Ram, 4" pipe, oversize
injectors. Transmission has 35,000 miles. K+N air filter, Edge 70 HP
chip. Trailer brake controller. 108,000 miles. Bedliner, Extended mirrors,
Exhaust gas temperature guage, and transmission temperature guage.
it's a quad cab, short box, with a tool box on it (not sure if that's included)
he's asking $17500... too much? too little? am I stupid for not buying?
(also, if a good deal, someone in WI (MKE area) help me out with checking it over...?)

Not to sound like I even had a clue on this, but I think I do LOL
you say it is an 01 , sounds like it has an auto in it.
From the littel bit that I know, it sounds like the edge 70 hp chip ( I had one on my 02) is possibly way to much additional power for that driveline, which would explain why there is a new tranny 38000 ago,
If you get it I would suggest getting the tranny looked at by a tranny shop first, then open up the chip ( just a black box under hood on fuse box) an TURN it down to the first setting. This will safe you trannys in the future, besides that it all sounds GREAT

something just occured to me... rebuilt tranny, oversized injectors and 70 hp chip... find out if the tranny has been built to handle the extra power and see if the TC has been updated as well. with those mods, a stock tranny wont last.
