Default Has anyone tried this?

My dad has a diesel (FORD) and he says this stuff is great. I did some reasearch and it looks good. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it. The stuff is called STANADYNE. They redid the formula to work with the new ULSD. If it works this stuff would be great.

nope, never tried it.

the mix is cheep enough to buy it in bulk... smaller bottles cost more per tank. do they have a larger size bottle?

This is the link I have. http://www.dieselpage.com/main.shtml . They have different stuff and sizes. Each bottle is enough for two tanks. I bought a case and figured I would try it.

Thats funny as I ordered a case today myself.

From what I read:

http://www.stanadyne.com/new/ppt/showfile.asp?id=1295

it seems to be close to the "brew" we are currently running all in one 16'oz bottle (treats 2 tanks). It boasts up to 5 points increase in the cetane which is what the (grey bottle) PSD is rated.

As far as cold weather gel point it only says it lowers the pour / gel point by 40 degrees so since I'm not sure what the gel point is on #2 diesel I'll still keep the white bottle around (up to -40) in the truck and tank this winter. (unless someone knows that off the top of yer head?)

Either way I think its a good idea to keep at least the 911 (red bottle) arounbd just in case.

When I was up in Alaska I used that stuff in the winter to lower the gelling temp. Didn't notice any difference in performance/economy...but I wasn't really paying attention...was too worried about gettin to the mountain with the sleds! [sm=burnout.gif]

But be careful, that stuff stinks to high heaven! [:@] Use some sorta gloves when you mess with it.

Steve I did see that it came in a 96 oz.

I also saw that it beat PS in cetane rating and its an all season and covers -60.

Id be willing to try it.

whats the cost of this stuff?
