Default CYA 11/20th switch spots with Drew

Yep that correct he will be back soon, and I will be leaving tmorrow AM for the drive down to Miami for a crusie , we wil be back on SUnday the 19th sometime, and should be back home ( here that is ) on Monday the 20th.
We will be taking our 2004 VW Golf TDI down, ( just can't beat that milage) ( and when heading to Miami from an hour north of Toronto, every bit helps)
So see ya's in a week or so.

Yo King, are you taking 95 all the way down? If so, when do you expect to be driving through Philly?

No , not that way, we took that way once, and it took us about 5 hours longer( ride took for ever)
We will be entering at Buffalo, then#90- #79- #19-#77-#26 then we will hit #95 in South Carolina. When we come back we will be heading to ( oh , oh flash backs to Drew here and Mushy stuff) Dolly Wood in Tennessee , then back home ( the wife just loves anything Dolly )

Thank you very much, We will actually be leaving here on Sat AM, but I have a funeral to attend just east of Ottawa on Friday AM, so I will be leaving our place at 03:30 Friday and returning, then hitting the sheets for s bit, and then heading south on Sat.
I wish I had more miles on the new Ram, and I would take it, but I want to do as much towing as I can with it.
This will be a 8000km ( about 5000 miles ) week for the VW and I sure would like to be in the truck for that , but oh well.

Thanks again for the well wishes.

Is fuel mielage the only reason why you don't take the Ram?

I'd take it !! Helluva lot comfier than a VW that's for sure !!

Ralph, you going to keep track of your VW mileage? I'd considered getting one of those as well... dug up some awesome mods for them to be able to push the 200 hp range with gobbs & gobbs of torque. (nope cant leave anything alone... I know what you guys are thinking...) think about it... 200 hp mid to high 30's for mileage.... that would be a nice backup car...

Our VW now averages just over 650miles to the tank, that is combined milage. The best I ever got out of one, was 74.5 MPG on this trip average, but that was our 02 with the smaller motor at 90 hp, the new one has a cold air intake on it and is stock with 100hp, so not sure how many MPG we will get with this one on this trip as we have never recorded it, but I do know that we will fill up here before we leave, then fill up again in Wytheville VA, and then again just south of Jacksonville FL. The fill up from just south of Jacksonville will take us to Miami and back to the same area near Jacksonville.

And yes there is some cool mods for these VW TDI, but with this kind of milage, ( oh yes and it is kinda the wifes car ) we are not wanting to change to much on it.

No fuel milage is not even a consideration for not taking the Ram, it only has 1800 K's ( 1100 miles ) on it and 1/2 of it has been towing duty, and that is the real reason that we got it was for towing, and I just thought ( correct me if I am wrong please) that it would be best to put th early milage on it towing as much as I could. ( please tell me I am wrong as we both would sooner take it, way nicer and the GPS is cool to play with )

Dude, I wouldn't let anything stop me from taking the Ram on a trip like that. DEFINATELY more comfortable !!!

I seriously doubt that you are going to hurt or change anything by breaking in the Ram on a long empty road trip instead of a few trailer pulls. I would think that a nice long trip would do better for a break in than anything else, but who am I.

Just take the Ram. You have my blesings !!

I am going to report you ( I mean this ) to thw warden , and see wht she has to say !!! I will get right back at you on this very , very important subject !!!
I seriously thought it would be a better break in , to NOT put that kind of miles on it with out a good weight behind it !! I know it will not hurt but I just thought it would be a way better break in.
