How do I find out if my brother's recently purchased 2005 Ram 6-spd Cummins has a performance program from the previous owner? The engine will rev to approx. 3600 RPM. I think the stock rev limit is 3200? It had a high perf. clutch and flywheel w/ 35" tires. If it has been programmed, how do I find out what program it has?

 

Did he buy it from a dealer or private owner? A mechanic shop with a comp that plugs into the obdII port should be able to tell you. If he bought it from a private individual, I'd be careful about taking it to a dealer to tell, b/c if it does have one they may try to void the waranty. You can always try to find the info of the previous owner and try to contact them. Thats just my idea on it.
