what is this winter blend everyone talks about? and how do you know what places sell it? is there any station that sells "better" diesel than another??

new time diesel guy here so im just trying to find out as much as possible

Winter blend is where they mix #1 and #2 diesel depending on where you live to meet the temperature in your area.

Winter blend is any where in the north half of the US and those in the south who get freezing weather and those who sell to those going in to colder weather areas. So that is what about 2/3 to 3/4 of the country sells winter blend.

Our winter blend only started showing up around here about 2 weeks ago. I guess I'm lucky to not yet have any in my tank, that is until my next fill up [:'(]

I haven't noticed a mileage drop yet so I'm not sure if it is here yet
