Default vent/heater/defrost Ram 2500

I can't switch from dash vents to floor or defrost. Where do I start?

Welcome aboard elk !!

What year is your truck? Perhaps that'll help. Also, a little more detail into your problem would probably help as well.

I'm willing to bet you have a 3rd gen 03-04. the hinges on the blend door are particularly weak and tend to snap. there is an upgrade for this problem, but it involves takeing the ENTIRE dash out.

Sorry I didn't give enough info. My truck is a '04. One door near the accelerator I can see looking into the floor vent with a flashlight does move when I turn the ****, but it has no effect on the air flow. The air flow comes out the dash vents, but nothing on the floor or the defrost vents. Thanks.

one side will turn, but you need to see if the other side is turning. if you dont have certian functions then it is broke.

i took mine in with the same problem. it is the blend door vent. it breaks off inside and blocks the airway.. i took it to the dealer this morning and they replaced it.. they say it was a known issue and that the older vent didnt have a motor stop built in.. therefore it torgued itself enough to break. mine was under warranty and was repaired... the dash does have to come out.. so mabye that will help you out
