Default new to the forum

Hi people I'm new to the forum and thought that I'd say hi and happy thanksgiving
I purchased a 2001 2500 quad back in september to tow my toy (jeep wrangler) and use as a commuter to and from work.
I found this forum shortly after i purchased it because I had some questions and you have answered almost all of them in other threads.
the only one I have is about the vp44. I have found lots of dealers selling remanned units.
I know this is an opinion question but is there any I absolutely should avoid.
blue-chip diesel seems to have done their home work industrial diesel is close to home and others seem to just have OEM style.
when I replace my pump I want to only do it once and I am going to either F.A.S.S. it or get the BD lift pump.
I am also going to install a low pressure warning light to try and prevent any more problems with the injector pump
you guys seem to know a lot from what i've read and I think I can trust your opinions.

Welcome aboard jester. Glad to see that you've decided tono longer be a "lurker" and are no a poster. Stick with us !!

I don't know about your VP44 question, but I HAVE decided to go with the FASS system. Just a matter of picking which model.Drew has aso pointed out a Walboro ump that you might want to consider as well.

I think the FASS & Walbro pumps are feeding the VP44... I dont know of a good option for a replacement. I do know that the vp failures are usually caused by the lift pump dying and putting in a FASS or Walbro is an excellent replacement for the stock pump.

thanks guys I was actually asking about the dealers of the pumps.
I'd like to know about any that should be avoided
I think my trucks pump is going out but it's still running strong
it will smoke on start up ( whiteish) I thought it was the fuel heater I tested it. it's ok.
It dose the dead peddle, thought it was the APPS no codes for the APPS but there was a code 216
I even checked pressure for and aft of the lift pump, it checked out ok
I'm thinking with every thing I have found to read about it, I have a failing vp44.
If you have any more input it would be greatly appreciated.

I would first change the fuel filter before doing any thing else (cheapest part that will need replaced in time anyway) As for vp44's I don't know anyone running anything but oem, how ever I have been looking over the high preformance one from industrial injection. I'd figure that when my lift pump goes, I will replace everything. A FASS lift pump and the preformance one from industrial injection.
