Default Warranty question?

I have just purchased my first Dodge. It's an 04 2500 CTD and to say that I am impressed with it so far is an understatement. WOW!! Impressed with fuel economy (drove an F-150 gas previously and I don't think the Dodge is any harder on fuel consumption), massive torque and the general looks of the truck. Installed Stainless Nerf Bars so we can get into the rig a little easier, Chrome Fender Trim, K & N Air Filter and window vents. New Michelin LTX's went on last week and I am having a "spray-on" bed liner done today. The fifth wheel hitch goes in and it should be ready to roll. I thought the DIY fuel filter tutorial is awesome. Thanks for posting. Purchased the new fuel filter and hope to install it today.

Now my question.....
The truck is out of Texas and was imported into Canada by the fellow I bought it from. Since this rig has only 37,000 miles on it, it should still be covered by warranty. Someone told me here in Canada that the US Dodge warranty was invalid in Canada. Can anyone shed any light on this? I have gone onto Dodge.ca and sent an email to Dodge but it's been over a week and no answer. I have no warranty issues but want the peace of mind knowing that I am covered.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first couple of weeks "lurking" and learning.....

Bob

Nice lookin truck and welcome!

I had a silver durango and it looked great dirty and fantastic clean. Wanted to get the truck in silver but had to settle for the inferno to get the deal.

As far as your warrenty goes I am no expert but from what I have read it looks like it is not valid outside the continental U.S. Hopefully theyll let it slide as your just a bit more northern than most.

Good luck!

How far are you from the border? If it's a few miles or something, maybe you could still be covered.

Well actually, I am a 1.5 hour ferry ride to Vancouver and then .5 hour to the border. No warranty issue to date but if that what I have to do, then a trip across the border is worth it to get my warranty work done. I'll call Dodge here in Canada, after the weekend and see what they have to say.
