did you run your truck with the stock muffler for any amount of time after you installed the aero and could you compare your MPG against running with the 30" magnaflow.

yup, originally had the cat & stocker, then dumped both and went with just a 30" magnaflow. lost alot of low end torque but the egt's went down and mileage went with it.
THEN with just a hair bit of arm twisting, my good buddies here on DF convinced me the aero was the way to go. so I did osme research and found several guys who didnt like the noise level and added a 2nd muffler behind it. so I decided to just add the aero in front of my 30" mag. Results are awesome. keep in mind that I also have the ATS intake which added a good amount of low end torque between 1500~2500 rpms AND I have 33's on there. when I added the 33's I lost a lot of low end. I think I have it all back according to my butt dyno...

you'd have to check with your smog ref or smog stations to find out if you can go w/o the cat. they will tell you no (almost positive of it) but the question should be "hey, I have a new diesel and want to know what to expect when the inspeciton time comes around" or something like that.

I had my Aero installed by a muffler shop here in town thats an Aero dealer and has installed hundreds of them on the Cummins. He said that Aero told him to cut the CAT off and install it where the cat was....then cut the stock muffler off and weld in your 4 inch straight-through pipe where you need it. Thats how he's done all of them he said and never had an issue or a customer un-satisfied...but ya never know....
I'm very happy with mine...I have a full review of my Aero on the forum somewhere....
Great sound, instant turbo spool up, no torque loss, and it pulls the ol' race trailer even BETTER now....
Love it!

are you doing any mileage checks?
the biggest thing I noticed was a bump in hiway mileage... my best mileage ever was this past thanksgiving... had 18.7 mpg over ~160 miles driving down to fresno, all flat... 68~70 mph.
edit: oops, ment to add that previously my best mileage was 17.5 mpg with the previous setup. the best I'd ever gotten prior was when I 1st got my truck and it had stock tires on it... 18.5 IIRC, also 100% hiway.
