06 cummins chip... help?
hey everyone, just a while ago i sold my jetta GLI for an 06 dodge ram 2500 cummings. And that was probably the best decision ive ever made. I want to chip my truck now and i've been looking at the bullydog powerpup program. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of any problems with chipping the 06's or has expierenced any problems with that.

Welcome Lance
I have the 2007 CTD and based on all info I could find, I will probably end up installing injectors instead of the chips, as, ( as DREW on here has stated ) in the event of a warranty issue, they will probabaly not even check the injectors, and the injectors will give me what I am looking for ( about 50 - 60 more HP and better fuel milage), the max that I can comfortably go with a stock RE48 transmision.
In my 02 CTD I had the EDGE chip and did the injectors about 20K later and it was like it was like the firct day that I chipped it, and way more power.

Ken, you are right, I can hit up Industrial Injection for some stage 1 or stage 2 injectors that have been extrude honed for $1,050. Diesel Dynamics lists injectors anywhere from 50hp to 100hp starting at $800 to $1100.
I got my TST for $650 and leave it around the 55-95hp and the 120-240 torque settings. yes I did pay less, however with injectors you will get the power increase throughout the full range of the engine, where as most boxes and programmers wait till either a certian RPM or boost pressure before they start fueling.
injectors are a good route to go, especialy if you are haveing the stockers fail on you. aftermarket injectors are less expensive and make more power over the stockers you would get at the dealership

What is the labor invovled in changing out injectors on the 06 CTD? Meaning, if you had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty, how hard would it be for an average joe (or mayfair for the matter ).
