Default 1/8 mile time??

Ok, I am old skool. I will admit it. I remember watching my neighbor run his Dodge Charger with a 440+six pack at Fremont Baylands (when it was still open). Damn does that date me or what? Looking at the forums (mostly the Hemi guys) I always see a drag time of like 9.X (and I am thinking HOLY CRAP) then I see its for an 1/8 of a mile. Since when did reporting the 1/8 of a mile time get popular? I always thought it was the quarter mile time that one or lost the race.

Sigh, maybe I am just out of touch.

Yeah, this 1/8th mile crap DOES suck. Track owners are trying to head that way for insurance reasons. Cars are getting faster and faster every year. This 1/8 mile stuff really hurts the turbo guy's as their set ups don't really start to kick in till about 1/8th mile down. I really hope that drivers will band together and ban the 1/8th, but I doubt it.

I know- it doesn't give me a chance! I have to wind her up and shift through at the least five gears for my gusto!!! 1/8 mile is no good and doesn't slide in my rulebook[:@]
