Default Newbie questions

Hello everyone. I just bought my truck yesterday. I've been a sports car guy all my life. This is my first truck and I LOVE IT. This thing makes you (me) feel invincible. Just a few questions:

1. What is the best maintenance manual around?
2. Are there any weak points for this model year, i.e. must-do upgrades? From the fewthreads I have read,I get the impressionfuel lift pump issues may be common??
3. This seems to be a pretty good site but are there any others that are recommended? I'm into technical info, DIY tips, upgrades, etc.
4. I am thinking of using Redline synthetics in the diffs.Butwhat are the recommended fluids for theengine and trans? planning on using a 5000 engine and 30000 trans change interval.

Thanks and I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

I personaly go around 8-10,000 between engine oil drains. and the lift pump realy doesnt become and issue untill you go over 100hp. however they will sometimes die out of no where.

redline from what I hear is a good oil to use in these trucks. . .other good oils are royal purple and amsoil. Ive got amsoil in mine and like it. if you want enough info that will make your head spin check out turbo diesel register

Thanks Drew. What about a maintenance/ repair manual? Is the shop manual the only way to go?

I didnt notice what year truck you have.
There is a downloadable manual at http://www.hemitruckclub.com
The listing for the year trucks is on the left side.

Personally, the decieding factor for me is how Iv been driving.
Usually around 5000 between oil changes.
