First let me say, Costa Rica is a great place for a vacation!
It would probably help the people here if you can read off any trouble codes your vehicle has stored. In my 06' if I hold down the odometer reset and turn the ignition on, my gauges go into a test mode and I can read off trouble codes. I know there is also a way to do this by switching the igniton on and off 2-3 times (without starting the motor). I am sure other will chime in.
First thing I would look at is the parking brake itself. Are you sure the parking brake pedal is coming all the way back up when you release it? Try tugging up a bit on it (not enough to break it
) and see if there is any play. The problem could also be the sensor that detects the position of the parking brake pedal.Hopefully the fix is a simple one.
My 95' had a prop/metering valve, and an antilock valve that both had small plungers that you would depress with a small screwdriver, or the other method of buying the "special tool" from the dealer....LOL.
Them Craftsman screwdrivers do right by me every time...LOL.
Good luck with OUR rides..lol.

took it to the dealer today...they said couldnt take my truck until january, but the only 2 thing that can turn the parking brake light go on are, the brake peddal switch, or the sensor inside the brake fluid canister, took that out, clean the inside.....and nothing, also the switch is ok....any ideas>>>>

I am not sure what a 2003 brake setup looks like. I assume you have ahydroboost system? They way it USED to be, was the master cylinder had two brake lines coming off of it. BOTH the lines went into an aluminum manifold at the top. Inbetween the two lines, there would have been a single wire connector. The connector would feel loose to the touch. Totally normal.
Anyway, that single wire is attached to the brake pressure differential switch. It's a small plunger switch that closes the ground (I think..lol) and then the PCM gives you the light.
And also, I am pretty sure that any codes which are considered to be "serious", will be displayed constantly. I am pretty sure that Dodge used the brake light as an indicator for problems withother components in the brake system.
If, at any time since you have had the truck, had ever severlyslammed on the brake pedal, there is a VERY strong chance that the little plunger used to close the switch is stuck. It has a single seal on it and can be rolled very easy. Now the light comes on. The reason the brakes still feel good is because that plunger has nothing to do with the brakes other than to light the light, if one of the lines cannot maintain pressure. The pressure differential switch cannot restrict flow.
My point being, that plunger can very well be stuck, but it will not affect the brakes. The switch part that you cleaned is probably fine. It's working as it should, and is giving you the light.
That is just my guess. I am not some Dodge mechanic......lol.And remember I have a 95'. But I have ripped apart, and then studied my Rams brake parts. To me, this combo valve they use is ok for day to day driving. One good "holy ****" brake application is all that it takes to damage parts.
I hope this helps. Maybe you can suggest it to the mechanic. I doubt they all know what happens in that combo valve because it's always replaced as a unit. You'd never see a repair shop, repairing the valve......LOL. And it's EASY to fix..lol
Ok my friend.......don't let that sun roast ur azz. PLEASE lets us all know how you made out.
Good luck with your ride.
