TST ( out for delivery !! ) ......
a quick question.... I remember reading somewhere that it's wise to install the Smarty before any other programmers.
Is this true ? Does it help to avoid problems by installing the Smarty first ? Has anyone installed the TST and then a Smarty without problems ?
I'm itching for HP's and the Smarty for the 07 is taking a while to get done. I can install the TST today but, not sure if I should.

the TST is a box, not a programmer. it alters the signal outputs to and from the computer for the injectors, MAP, crank and cam sensors. it is not reprogramming the computer in any way. the smarty is actualy replaceing the programming. I have heard of some horror stories about switching from a bully dog to a smarty. however clean smarty downloads are quite sucessfull.
one thing you have to remember is that the TST alters the injector timeing and pulse width by a certian factor with ever step increase. the smarty does this from the computer from the begining. the TST doesnt know your running a downloader, all it will do is add duration and timeing. your best bet with the smarty TST stack is to use a smarty program with no timeing and adjust the tst to dial things in.
the TST all by itself ROCKS. as steve said when he pulled off his edge box and put the TST on he felt as if he was being pushed by a freight train
just be carefull with it. if you get too agressive you will dammage the turbo and that doesnt take much. stock trans I would keep it under 3/3

I just read either here or at another forum about the problems Smarties have had. One of the reasons was having another programmer or fuel box installed before the smarty was. I plan on installing the TST today but, do plan on a smarty also. I just wanted to see if it would have been smart to wait.
I've been reading about these different systems. It sounds like TST is more powerful. It also sounds like Edge might be better for someone like me because it monitors tranny slipage, EGT, etc and probably won't cause damage to my truck. I don't want to have to upgrade my transmission or replace it. What do you guys think?
