Ok guys The stock Sirius antenna plug will not fit aftermarket sattalite radios. My question is has anyone had this problem and how did you overcome it? I realize I could just mount a new one and run the wire but the factory mounted one seems to look the best and ends at the rear of the stereo. It would seem easier to splice the plug instead of running all new wire and having two seperate antennas on the top of the truck. Also if adding an amp to increase the noise level which battery would you use. Thanks for all your help in advance.

I had an aftermarket Alpine head unit and Alpine Sirius tuner installed and it plugged right into my factory Sirius antenna. I have an '06 2500 Bighorn. The installer wasn't sure it would work but when he pulled out the factory Sirius tuner, he noticed that the antenna connection was the same as the Alpine's. Have you seen the connection, or did somebody just tell you it wouldn't work?

it wont fit,, if u change you will have to go with a whole new setup. I would be careful about splicing the wires,,, if the connection is not perfect,, it won't work very well.

Well, maybe the Pioneer setup is different. I'm not sure who makes the factory head unit, but maybe it is Alpine, and that's why it works? The installers gave me the Alpine antenna from the set since they didn't use it. Trust me, I was thinking all of the same things you are. I was really happy when they told me it plugged right in!

Pioneer makes radios for XM[:'(] reception. The antennas are not compatible[:@]

All done. The factorysatalite plug does not fit ( at least with the top of the line Pioneer) so you will have to purchase the tuner and new antenna. Plug them up and it works. Plus you leave the factory antenna and plug for when you trade it own a new one.
