some TST help please ......
installed the r49 in my truck last night. Today, I'm trying to get it dialed in but, just can't get it.
Anything above 1 on the power level makes the truck start spitting and sputtering really bad. It doesn't matter if it's on Econo, Stand, or the twins
I have the RP turn off. Even with it on it didn't help. Adjusting the TE doesn't make any difference. Timing is on auto.
I am new to this but, I've read more about this subject that I care to admit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

reset all your connectors. and make sure you dont have the crank and cam plugs reversed. . .the plug on the end goes on the crank sensor.
even with standard mode, 3/3 is bawls to the freakin walls.

I just came back from a drive. No matter what....anything above P1 it, surges, spits and sputters. It also acts like cruise control has been set cause it wants to keep on goin' !
I'll go check my conns.
Ok.... I suppose it was my bad. The problem seemed to be having the rail pressure sensor hooked up. I know TST's site says anything built after 6/06 can't use the RP. I thought I had read some where that the problem with that was resolved with the newer model TST. I guess it hasn't.
So, I suck the 2 TST conns back together and reconnected the OEM plug and all seems to be good now. I didn't have the RP turned to " Off " but, apparently that doesn't help.
If there's anything else I should know besides ( not to blow my tranny ;-) any and all suggestions are welcome. I know.... newbies suck but, we're only newbie for a short time [&:]

so, I'll find out along the way how well things are working.
your tranny can only handle about 75 hp max before it starts slipping... read the info sent with the box and make sure you dont exceed it with your setup. take into account all of your mods as some may affect low end torque as well... if you lost low end in any of your modding, you may be able to go higher on the TE settings.

thought I'd give an update on my problem. Well, as I said.... disconnecting the rail pressure took care of the spitting and sputtering.
That in turn gave me several codes. 2 of which were the cam & crank sensor . One other came up that I don't see anymore. In fact..... the check engine light stays on and every so often I'd check to see what the codes. Sometime there's codes.... sometimes there's none.
I have verified the wiring is correct. I tried calling TST but, the tech dept. doesn't answer their phone. I've left messages but, no one have called back. This diappoints me as I thought the TST group were on top of their game.
I think I remember reading that sometimes you have to use a code scanner to get in a turn out the check engine light. Is this what I need to do? Obviously, I'll need to figure out why these codes are stuck in the truck but.... I have no clue where to begin.
Steve..... believe me.... I never planned on going over a 3/3 setting until other mods are done. I did expect some kind of performance improvement though which I did finally see. I'm ready to see what 9/9 can do ;-)
Drew...... if i thought we would have had time... I definitely would have like to stop by and meet you. I bet you could have really opened my eye to some diesel stuff ;-) We had to pick some friends up from the airport and didn't have a lot of time. Next time though...I'll be coming down to see Jeff at some point and will make it a point to stop by and see you.

Just swing by an AutoZone, Advance, or O'Reilly's. They have the scanners, can check the code, turn it offand will usually do it for free. Then you don't have to worry about going to the stealership and raising an eyebrow.
Hell, as good as that truck looks, I'm sure you could get a few of them to Ewwwww and Ahhhhh enough to get you some freebie's.
