amsoil recommends a change @ 60k IIRC... I'm thinking of swapping it about every 40~50k... they say every other full flow filter change which is at 30k...

It says on the Amsoil web site for the Ea By-Pass filter that it only removes 39% of the soot. I have done sampling before on my CTD withouta by-pass filter and have found that the color of the oil really isn't a good indication of how good it is.

Anyone know what adding this does to the warrantee? I just bought my truck and I am not looking to void my 7/70k warrantee. Thanks.

Wade, the thing with the warranty and the Magnussun-moss(SP?) act is the dealership has to prove the modification directly caused the fault.

with the bypass filter all you are doing is adding in an extra level of filtration to the oil to keep it cleaner so it can do its job better.

lol, beleive what you want, but one member here on DF did his own test and posted his results. basiclly slapped one on a new filter and ran it for 3~5k (I forget how long), then yanked it and cut it open. sure enough there was a good amount of metal particles on the side of the filter. I'm pretty sure it was in the 2nd gen Ram forum. I'll see if I can find it. Besides, why would you doubt that a magnet can lock metal particles out of oil?
