Default how much boost?

Hey there guys. i had a quick question on boost. I've got a 06 CTD and i'm afraid to over boost my turbo. Can anybody tell me what a safe amount to boost would be?

I would say that even with your mods, you could not spin a factory turbo fast enough to create any sort of boost pressureto be concerened with.

That's just my 2 cents....

Good luck with your ride.

from what i understand.... 40 is the max your stock turbo should see. 36psi is a good cut back point.

I don't know about the Edge but, my TST will push my stock turbo to it's limit real quick !

So, should I be worried about my Quadzilla Boost fooler? I'll be installing it tues. after the guages are wired up.The turbo"should" be able to hit 48psi with the power adders, or so I was told.

You'll never see that with the stock turbo. What you will see is a large hole where the turbo used to be.

I've hit 45's with my mods... no problems. sustained @ 40. I have my boost limit set at 40~42 IIRC...

With the BDTD / QuadZ econo box stack I see 40-42 easy when I put my foot in it but I dont keep it there long. I usually try and keep it between 30-36.

I'm no expert but I thought I read somewhere that not only are you askin for trouble from your turbo but dont you run the risk of floating your head around 40-45 psi as well?

I think our motors can handle a little more than 45 psi. I am pretty sure we are good till around 75psi.

Good luck with your rides.

What does the CTD boost stock? Sorry for the newbie questions, but what is a TST, how much does it cost and how it helps. Basically Im looking to do some mods obviously, im in the process of upgrading the exhaust, air intake, and possibly getting the bully dog Triple Dog System. What are ya'lls thoughts on that.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.
