Default Tranny Temp!

Last night my tranny temp (in 2001 CTD)shot up to 200 degrees (per my Autometer gauge) while driving on the highway without any load (Normal driving it has never been over 150). My Edge attitude was only reading 139 degrees. Temp on Autometer has never been over 180 before and that was in the summer with a load. The sending unit for the Autometer is inline before the cooler.

At what temp does the Tranny Temp light come on?

Check all fluids and there ok.

Thoughts?

No unusual RPM. Truck is acting and shifting normal.

Bad sending unit…only 6 months old?

Do the newer Rams have continuous flow thru the cooling lines, or is that thermostatically controlled? Bad stat then?

I don't know partner, just tossin it out there.

Good luck with your ride.
