Break it in. It will improve with more mileage. My 05 3500 started the same way, I have 54,000 on it now and the truck weighs 9500lbs. and am getting 17 mpg.

My 06 CTD regulary gets 15.5 mpg city and 19.5 hwy unloaded. Oddly enough I did a field test with the tail gate down vs. up and mpg highway was 1.5 mpg better with the gate up. Go figure! Drew's Brew does an engine good as it makes it run 50% quieter and bumps the mileage 1.5 mpg for me. The above mpg quotes are city, not using DB and hwy is using DB.

Inow have 23,000 on theclock. The biggest jump in mileage for me was right around 8,000. It was sh*tup until 4 or 5,000, then I started seeinggood improvement.

Good luck!

Crazy kid,my guess is the 4.10 gear.Filled up in knoxville,Tn friday night, drove to Danville,Va got 21.5 reading on the overhead, not only was that good, but diesel fuel was 2.29 a gallon.Keep in mind I wear a size 9 shoe and 8 times my shoe size is is my age.....ah man to have a truck like this in my yout,oh well, something to look foward in thenext life.

I have 13000 on mine (had it since october) and i am getting 21 highway handcalc with the brew. I am loving it, as long as i keep it under 2000 rpms while on the highway.
