I am ordering a new truck most likely but the sales manager insisted that the truck might have 40-50miles on it before I pick upeven if it is special ordered from the factory.

I purchased lot of cars before and always found one with less than 10 miles but maybe it is different with Dodge Rams?

 

I used to work for a dealership, all cars have to have a minimum of 9 miles on the before leaving the lot.

 

9 can be reasonable but I don't think 50 is.

Today the sales manager was telling me about how they have to drive the car for 15 miles and then another couple miles to make sure everything is running right.

I would understand 10 miles on the odo, even 20 but not more than 30.

 

Believe me you dont want to see how "well" the lot boys take care of new cars, if you did youd never buy a new one. Then you have the salesmen that take them to lunch and anywhere else they feel the urge too. Be glad its only got 50 hehehe and hope its only on its first set of tires!

 

My 06 had 90 when i got it. I was shipped from 2 towns away, obviously they drove it. O well what can u do. And the cheap $#@$! gave it to me with a quarter tank of diesel. I asked them to fill it up and they said they are not equipped to do that. Thats ok, I got the Survey from dodge for buying the new truck. I have to tell the truth!

 

They dont drive anything unless to lunch, they dont care if it runs right ,thats services problem. tell him you want a new truck not used ,my last 3 have had 10-12 miles!!!

 

I will tell him tomorrow that if it is more than 15, I would not buy it. There is at least 5 dealers close to my house (within 10 miles or so) so I can always go to another one.

38K later and everything is stull tunning like a top

 

When I ordered mine, they found what I wanted and drove it to the dealer.
Truck had 110 miles when I got it.
Iv never had a new vehicle that hasnt had some mileage on it before Iv got it.

 

I got my '06 with 9 on the odo. Well, 12 if you count the run they made to fill it up while I was doing the paperwork

When I factory ordered a Ram back in '00, I rolled off the lot with 3 miles on it and I was told that was mostly a run to get gas before I got there.
