305's on stock rims
Just wondering if anyone runs 305 70 17 on there truck, I am thinking about getting a set but not sure how they look on stock rims. I personally like the stock rims and dont want to buy new ones if dont need too. Thanks
Teeminus are you sure about the drop? Having larger tires affects the speedo and odometer. It shows a lesser distance while you actually go further. Time yourself on the highway between mile markers at 60 mph- if the speedo is on it will take 1 minute. If it takes less then that you are going faster than 60(distance traveled longer than a mile) although the speedo says 60. When I switched the tires on my Jeep (without changing the input gear on the t-case) from 215/75 to 31/10.50 my speedo droped about 5 mph and I was recording 90 miles on a 100 mile trip.
I run 305/70- -16s on stock rims. Certainly the max you want to do. Tire guys told be to run with just a little bit less air pressure because of the width of the tire to the wheel. I do get just a bit of rub.

Might also wanna consider 295/75/17. Same height (actually slightly taller), but will fit the rim better. You're talking a 11.5" wide tire (295) compared to a 12.5" (305)
305 is a bit wide for the stock rims. Most of the manufacturers recommend at least an 8.5" wide rim for that width.
