well mines an 01 so it might not have the same problems as the newer trucks, and if i take my truck in anywhere at all it sure won't be the dealer. too expensive.

I have an 03 3500 single wheel 4wd and my a/c has similar problems. How much does it cost to have it replaced and where is it located...

Could his problem be loss of vacuum? don't know if it would stay in defrost. Just a thought.

you would ahve to remove the entire dash to get to the blend door. the part itself I'm unsure of price.

The blend door just does temperature. I've got an 02 and had the dash out and the HVAC system out. There are a couple doors that control direction. The blend door is the only electric door, the directional doors are all vacuum operated. You can actually see the vacuum lines from underneath the dash if you look to the left of the HVAC system, which will be right by the shift tower if you have a stick. (Best viewed from near the accelerator pedal looking towards the passenger side and up) They are hard to see until you know what you are looking for. I'm sorry I don't seem to have any better pictures. I was looking for one of the unit assembled but out, or one with all the pieces in it but in half. Sorry I couldn't find those, hopefully these will help. I'm not a mechanic, just ask any of the regulars on the forum, I just take stuff apart if it breaks and try to learn what I can when I try to fix it.

That was my original intent, I just got a little sidetracked and figured no one else had the same problem as me. I can make that next week's project while I'm at work, flying that desk can get a little boring sometimes.
