Default A.C. problem

I was out in my buddies pasture doin donuts the other night with the defrost on cause the windows were a little foggy and when i woke up the next mornin i tried to turn myy max a.c. on and it would only blow outta the defrost vents, it is doin this on all the a.c. settings max a.c., regular, even floor vents they all blow outta the defrost vents it turns off though if i put it on off so all i have is off and defrost. Anyone have any ideas? I found a spot just below the compressor or whatever the metal tank is behind the turbo, it is blowin air out it's like a little nipple stickin out about the size of a nickel i was thinkin mabye a line or hose came off of there but i don't see anywhere the other end would go to and i don't see any lines hangin down.

I have an older 99 (check sig) and mine did the same hting. I ended up having to replace the AC control panel. ( the thing with the *****) it is a single peice with all the hoses and fittings on it. for some reason just went bad. u can get one from a good auto parts store for about 160-180 depending. however install is going to be a bit.

what year is your truck??? 03 and early 04's have a problem with the blend door breaking. this could be your problem. if it is a newer model it could be the wireing for the solenoid came loose or as Ben mentioned the ****.

yeah it's not to tarribly bad although my dad is a mechanic. u mostly just have to pull the front dash peice off and unscrew the part and reattach the wires as u see. make sure to test it before u put the dash back on, if u don't and something doesn't work right it takes alot longer then u might think lol.

i have a 06 and it did the same.. my problem was the blend air vent broke.. the dealer said it is a known problem and was fixed under warranty.. dodge built the part without a motor stop and after a while it torgued it enough to finally break it and it falls down in the intake and blocks the airflow.. i took my glove box out and felt around in there to see if there was a blockage and i found it to be broke.. i told the dealer and they knew exactly what it was already.. just take it in and see .. they have to take the dash out to replace it..
