Default Fuel millage

Ok first of... I love my truck to death and the power is awesome but the fuel milleage sucks....O6 crew cab, automaitc, CTD with 13000 miles on the od.... I am still only gettin 15 or 16 and thats keepin it at 60miles an hr... when i get on the interstate and run 70 ormore i only get 14 or less... Right now my truck has the bully dog power pup on the 50 horse setting, been using drews brew every tank, got a magnaflow muffler and the cat is removed. Is there nething i can do differently to get some better mileage..... I was hopin that it would get at least 18 or so when i bought it so im knida dissapointed....

Thank for ne help....

Check/replace the fuel filter. I get 18.5 on the highway at 70mph.

Mind wasn't doing that good when I got it at 26000 miles but once I put a load on it pulling a trailer for a week or two straight it jumped to 14 pulling and 19 empty.

I read some where too where you need to load it down to get it to break it in right, and I can believe it as I know some guys who bought the CDT and use it like a car and complain about the mileage and I seen to many 2500's and 3500 with low miles on them on sales lots like mine was.

Oh I forgot the tranny was stiff as hell when I bought it and it's smooth as can be after pulling with it for a week.

I filled up today and hand calc mileage is 17.7 real close to what the overhead showed but I only went to the 1st click and to the next gallon(29) I had about 60% hiway and 40% city and about 1000 lbs."winter weight" in the bed.

I thought the 06 had the fast idle built in you just needed to get the dealer to turn it on

It does, just have them hook up the STARscan and activate it. It's under the vehicle prep section I believe.

Takes all of 5 minutes.

You can have them activate the accessory power delay while you're at it.
