I have been using psd at 1/3 oz per gal. and penz synth. 2 stroke (for my boat) at 1/3 oz per gal. at every fill for 5 tanks. I think that the ratio is important just dumping in a fixed ammount will tend to bias the ratio up or down and detract from any data obtained. I believe that my engine runs smoother and quieter. Mileage has not been affected still 19 highway (calced) and 17 city (calced) empty. Last weekend I towed a trailer with atv on it and one in the bed from Katy to Junction Texas coming home (acouple of deer heavier) I calced 14 mpg. at 75mph and a small portion in what must be heaven caus the limit is 80, God I love Texas.

I have not heard it said that it doesnd burn as good, It burns great in the Yamaha, is suposed to have a lower ash content than dino and my understanding, ash=carbon buildup=bad things happen. I am however open to the discussion of reason to use dono 2stroke over synth 2stroke oil. I have talked to old men that have been driving big rigs for there whole life that swear by using 2stroke and have done so for years.

I use a 1 to 200 ratio (approx) at that level I doubt that even if non of it burns and the truck idles for gallons of fuel the ammount remaining would be very small. I have no problem with build up in the outboard and it runs much colder and at much lower compression. I will switch to dino but I have been impressed with the surface tension strength of synth and if it is not going to hurt the motor with excessive build up I think it will provide much better lubrication of the cp33 and a small ammount of upper cyl lubrication as well.
Has any one seen tests or experienced damage from using synth 2 stroke oil. I would like to here the story.

Better be careful on the 07 trucks. They have a particulate filter in the exhaust, running extra oil in the fuel could plug that prematurely under the right driving conditions. And I believe that they are supposed to be OBD II compliant.

thats why you run the ashless 2 stroke.

I ran 2 stroke for a bit in my truck and yes it did quiet it down a good bit, however it doesnt have the cetane boost PS does or the anti-gelling properties.

will 2 stoke quiet it down at a cold start up and everything also?. maybe a modified "brew"... substitute MMO for 2S??? that way you still get the cetane and anti-gelling

the cold start will still be a bit "rattled" since there is very little oil at the top of the engine to lube the lifters, rockers, and valves not to mention everything is tight since it is cold so your going to have more ratteling.
