well i have a 2004 dodge ram 3500 Quad cab 8ft bed diesel that we loaned to a friend to use,
this truck has very FEW miles on it and sits most of the times..

we made the mistake of loaning the ONLY set of keys to him and being my luck , he lost the keys at the mall with his kids.. my luck...

so off to the dealer we go.. feed him the VIN number on the truck.. he cant tell me whether it had the chip in the key and i THINK the key handle was black so grinds us the key and sends us on the way with the remote. (unprogrammed ofcourse, says bring the truck back with the remote and they will program it for FREE)

never have used the key to get in the truck always the remote.. now when i drive 4 hours in 2 days to go get the truck am i gonna have to worry about the alarm (stock) going off if I unlock it from the key in the door?
and how do i shut off the alarm if it does go off without a working remote??

ideas/suggestions appreciated (the dealer didnt know)
