Default Trailer Turn Signals

2006 Dodge 2500
My trailer turn signals are not working. I refered to the owners manual to find the fuse box under the hood. My 2005 had a fuse labled trailer turn signals but I am unable to locate the fuse on my 2006.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Happy New Year!

Thank you for the reply. I have been out of town so I am just receiving your message.

I do have the trailer tow package. I bought this truck in November 2006 and the trailer lights all worked. Now I can take a test light to the plug in the back to find tail lights and trailer brakes hot at the appropriate time. I have no left ot right turn signals. Sounds like a fuse to me but I am unable to find one labeled correctly or one that looks blown.
Do you know if there are two fuse boxes in this truck? If so, I can only find one.

My trailer turn signals are not working.
When the truck is hitched up, correct? Make sure you have a good ground between truck and trailer. and ground on trailer. Remove bulbs and check for corrosion. Bulbs burnt out? Flasher unit maybe???

Be sure your trailer wiring is ground
The trailer fuses are as follows on my 05, 2500
#33 is the running/parking lights
#46 is the left turn signal
#47 is the right turn signal
As you can see each turn signal has it's own fuse, So if you have no turn signals, you might not be grounded. You can check to see if the turn signals outputs are working with a 12volt meter or light tester, then just go to the 4 pole plug totest on the truck, it's easier to check than the 7 pole connector. Oh be sure to turn on one of your turn signals before checking.
I blew one of my fuses last year wiring up a fire Stick to the back of my trailer. I figure a little extra light in the back can't hurt the trailer from being seen.
Oh if your looking for the fuse chart it's on the back side of the fuse box cover.

I think this is addressed in this Technical Service Bulletin.

The design team must have made some changes to the 2006 in regards to the fuse box. My fuse box ends with #42 and does not include any fuse for trailer turn signals.
I read through the Tech Bulitin from sabersix and think this sounds exactly like my problem. This design seems a little crazy!!! What normally could have been taken care of with a simple fuse, will now have to go into the shop.
Thanks all!!! I will post the results!!

I took it to a local dealer Lopp Motors in Dodge City, KS. I gave them the symptoms and the print out from sabersix and they agreed that the intergrated module must be re-programed. They did it and it worked. Lucky me it was still under warranty!

I also spoke with a friend who told me about the idle up option on the cummins (I think it is 04 and newer and only for automatic trans). You can have the dealer activate this option and you can st the idle up while you are not moving. The cruise must be on and the truck in either Park or Nutral with the Park Brake on. The default rpm is about 1100 but you can push it up to 1300 or 1500 with the resume. I assume their is a limit but i don't really care about that..... This is a very cool feature in winter or summer.

I am sure many of you already know about this feature but thought I would post it anyway!!!

Glad I could help.

I'd recommend that all owners read through the Technical Service Bulletins on your model year truck. Just so you know what issues are out there. Could save you a few bucks.
