exhaust/intake break in
is it true that when you install and exhaust or intake...it hasta be "broken in" before you get its full effect? i think ive read something that you need to drive about 500 miles for the ecu to recognize it and make its own adjustments or something?? ive also herd that if u put an exhaust on over time it gets louder...and on the flip side ive herd that it gets quieter becasue the carbon build up inside acts somewhat as a baffel????? clear me up here
Probably depends on who you ask. But with my old gasser, I ran a true dual exhast setup with two flowmaster 40 series mufflers and I did notice after about a week, the throttle response improved a little bit.The exhausttone did get a little deeper, but notmuch. Nevergotquieterover time. I think a lot depends on the type of muffler used to.
Ran a K&N intake on it also, but never notice any change from whenI put it on.
Overall, Icould see the exhaustbreaking in, but not the intake as much.
Not sure if that cleared anything up for you, but that's been my experiences.
