Default New Cummins V6 and V8 engines?

I found this website today. It looks as if Cummins will put a diesel engine in a Durango and 1500.

Those engines look like their gonna be pretty cool. I just got to believe that the more diesel engines that are on the road, that fuel is going to rise in price to meet the demand. When i bought my first diesel in 93 it was almost a give away at the pump. Now that its sort of a fad to drive one diesel is 40 to50 cents higher!!! Dont get me wrong, i wont drive anything but a CTD, But watch and see when these engines are introduced, the public will jump on them and it will give the sheiks another reason to spike the prices. Another thing, when we start groing fuel instead of food, this country is gonna be in a bad state of affairs. The US already imports more produce than we grow.South Carolina has lost 80% of it farmers in the last 15 years already due to land prices. In other words its hard to plow $ 25,000 an acre ground. Its getting like this all around the country Why stay broke farming when you can strike it rich selling the land. (just some food for thought)

Don, the same thing is going on in Georgia. I used to pass by MANY cow pastures, grain fields, and farms. now these people have sold out to developers and tossing up a 175K house on 1/4ac. of land.[:@]

What IS up with that ??

Are these farmers just not making enough money farming any more? It's a real shame to see all of these farms turned into condo's.

Its hard to compeat with the big mega business/corp owned farms that get a lot of goverment $$$. That and the price of fuel, new tractors & combines hurt them too. Not to many can afford $250,000.00 or more for a new tractor or combine to harvest there crops.

Its like this , farmers are getting the same price for their goods as thay did 20 to30 years ago. but when they go to buy equipment, fuel, fertilizer or anthing else for that matter, the price has trippled. For instance, We bought a new ton truck in 1990 for 16,500 and today the same truck is 40,000!!!and we can still only get 1970,s prices for what we grow. Big Brother controls how much food cost. Thats why all the farmers are Quitting, Its bad math any way you look at it.
