Batteries can just go. No rhyme or reason.

I had a '96 Blazer that just died in the Mother in Law's driveway. Was working fine.......went out to start it......nothing.

Apparently, one of the plates came loose, fell against one of the others and shorted the battery.

No big deal....new batt....no more problems.

Hopefully it works out for ya brother. I was at the point of filling the tank with gas and shoving a rag in 'er. Believe me, I feel your pain.

Here are the sterile copies of the stuff I sent in. Obviously I didn't scan all the invoices and put them in here, but you can see how it goes. The list of enclosures is on the second pages of each document.

Thank god they finaly got the rep to see you and get you taken care of. Every manufacturer has defects but its how they handle it thatrealy matters, unlike ford and 6.0 powercraps and the " ford tough sh#t " policy of leaving owners with a undrivable vehicle and no recourseexcept lawsuit. im realy glad to see it has worked out and has left you with a choice. good luck

Hope ya don't mind...

I saw you were from Nevada, so I did a little looking myself. The way it looks, the vehicle has to be repaired for the same defect FOUR times or have been out of service for a total of 30 days. Then it shows that you write the letters, etc.

To ME, that means that after the 3rd time, if it has go back in, write the Final Notice for Repair. Make sure everything is sent certified and signature reciept so that have record. Let them respond, but DO NOT let the dealer work on the truck or clear any codes until you receive a letter back from them stating when / where to bring it. Most likely the selling dealer.

After that attempt, number 4, if it has the same problem, bring it to the dealer, have it identified, but DO NOT let them work on it or clear codes. Get it in writing and then send the letter to repurchase or replace.

Here are a few links. I don't claim to be a lawyer,so make sure you do the background work

I seriously hope that you ge this resolved and do not have to go through the goat rope that I have.

I was so pissed off through the whole process that I was catching myself being an even bigger D&*K at work and getting pissed at the wife.

Don't let it get you that mad brother. Yeah, we spend a lot of money on these things, but when it all comes down to it, it's just a truck.

Wow, well, sounds like the Rep had his ducks in a row. Personally, I would have gone for the new truck (exact same configeration as my current one, even if that meant finding an 'new' 06 sitting on a lot somewhere else) but I guess once you get used to it....

Hopefully, all the repair work will take care of the problem. Best of luck!

Believe me, dropping the hammer and ordering a brand new one weighed heavily, but I had to consider this:

1 - Would they have a left over '06 that was setup exactly how my truck is. I like my truck, I like the setup, I just want it working right.

2 - If they had a left over '06, why was it still there and how long had it been sitting? How many times had it been "test" driven?

3 - I'm a little leery of ordering a new truck, new motor, new trans, etc. I'd like to see the new combo out for a year or so, in these trucks, without issues before I pulled the trigger.

The tempation was there, but so was a bit of sense.
