I think you should be able to go to that size with no problems. You could potentially have a slight rub in certain instances but i doubt it and your truck will look better with those than the factory small tires. Remember your speedo will be off just a bit with those tires, but not much.

When yourspeed reads60mph you'll actually be going 62.1mph (a 3.5% difference)

285's won't be a problem. I am running them on mine. You can get an idea of what they look like in my pic gallery. I haven't had them rub once. If the speedo is off, it's only by a little, I haven't noticed a big difference.

The rule of thumb is you don't have to recalibrate the speedo unless you go above 10% of the original tire size. The stock tires have a diameter of around 31.6, a 285 70 R17 is about 32.7 in diameter. That is about a 1.1 inch increase so you should be fine. As others have said, you speed might read a tad slow, but that is about it.

Are you sure you can put tires that size on a tricycle? [sm=lildevil.gif]

Mayfair,

Just use this little calculator:

http://www.procomptires.com/conversionchart.htm

to figure out the diameter of your current tire to the desired tire.

Hope that helps.
