Yea I figured though if I got wheel slip (peeling out) than I would be a little to none in the TC slipping. Would it be a good idea for me to replace the Valve Body and TC when upgrade wheels/tires/6 in lift? Or what are yall suggestions?

the TC & valve body are a minimum... if your gonna start dragging or launching hard, look into a billet input shaft and definately get a deeper pan.

it's not cheep... the TC its self is $1100~1300 bux, the VB is up to $500, pan $250 and the input shaft is over $700 (at suncoast).

In you opinion would it be cheaper just to upgrade the entire tranny?

My local tranny shop will install a suncoast TC and VB for 500 bucks. So that means I would be out 1200(TC)+500(VB)+250(PAN)+500(labor) for a grand total of 2450. New trannys start at about 4grand (not including TC) and go up from there. Usually you are looking at about 6 g's for a nice beefcake (cartman?) tranny.

Also don't forget the damn core charges.

If you are going to go the new tranny route and have the dough, I would blow up the stock set up first.

The only problem with doing that is then you have to pay the core charge. Most places, with nearly any auto part, if it's completely FUBAR they will nto credit you that core charge back. If it's in basically good shape, minus the wearable parts, then you're okay.

But if you ghost that thing, you'll be eating even more.
