LineX and PE retracting cover installed
I had the LineX liner and PE retracting cover installed yesterday. So far I am very impressed.

The truck goes back in on Thursday for the lift and tires. Will take some more pics after that happens.

Steve,
Do to bugetary restraints, I opted to go with a straigh pro comp solution. Probably not the best lift out there, but I got a really deal since I went with all procomp products.
Here is what they are going to install/mount
Procomp 3" lift with MX6 adjustable shocks (will do a write up on this lift after my Trip to Elko Nevada) I went with the 3" because after reading what possible has to be done if you go higher that 5 inches scard the hell out of me. Like grinding the U joint of the Drive shaft to change the angle....no thanks....
Procomp 7089 17X8 Cast Black Rims
Procomp Xterrain AT's 33X12.5
I am sticking with 33's because I really dont want to mess with having to recal the speedo and such. Don't worry, my weenie camera and I will take plenty of pics once its all done.

dude, I definately want to see the pics of the wheels & tires... when you take the pics can you take a couple of shots straight down the sides? the 3" lift with 33's should look good. how much was the lift and what did it include?
Steve,
I will try to take lots of before and after shots of the suspension. I got the kit for 800 bucks or so. The lift, the rims and tires with install and alignment came out to be 3 grand. I would be willing to do the install myself, but my house does not have a garage and I hate crawling around in the dirt.
The kit comes with spacers (no coil replacement), control arms, shocks and a few other bits.

WOW that looks AWESOME !!
I really like those roll top covers, but I was warned against them by a guy who lives here. He said they're a real pain when they get ice on them. The ice get's between the grooves and then you can't open it. That alone scared me away from them, but man I really like em.
Good luck with it !!

$800 is not bad then when you factor in the shocks and arms... the arms alone can be up to $400 bux. is it upper& lower or just lower arms?
i did the spacers back in april/may of '06, wasnt too bad, used 2 floor jacks to help the axle along to allow the springs to pop in w/o too much headache. my setup is revtech spacers & edelbrock IAS performer shocks. stock arms

If you look at the bottom you will see three kit pictures. Look at kit K2058BMX, that is the equipment that comes sans all the bolts and crap.
Mayfair,
Damn, I never thought about the ICE issue. Hopefully won't be a big deal since I live in California. Will let you know how the cover works after I get back from Elko. There is a ton of snow/ice in Elko Nevada.

Oops .... sorry to be the grimm reaper. I thought we talked about this before. Anyway, yeah, I was all gung ho about getting one until my neighbor ( who had one ) told me about the con's, which actually turned out to be a big pain in the azz for him because he couldn't even open his tailgate without rolling up the top a bit. He wound up getting rid of it. I liked the idea because you can still use the truck as a TRUCK. Right now with my tonneau cover it's a real pain in the azz. I can't put anything in the back of my truck over 18 or whatever inches tall. Sucks !!!! Living in Cali you should be fine.
