4WD is good for one thing.......Getting you stuck even worse.
I "try" to use 4wd to get OUT of trouble. I'll get as far as I can in 2WD and use 4WD to get out. Uh, yeah, I TRY.
But there are always those occassions when your "BUDDIES" will say, "COME ONNNNN! You can do it." [:@]

With 1100 pounds of engine on the front tires,1500 with the tranny, so we don't make the bestoff road trucks.
I too like to go till I have to switch to four wheel drive, sometimes you can get through, but I see why most diesels new and used are 4x4's

Hehe......it's so cute.
They are ligher trucks, thier big problem is the thaw and freeze, the ground thaws and is nothing but a swamp and then freezes you in .
We have clan in some areas, that's a mixture of clay and sand, it's firm as long as you don't spin a tire, but if you spin even a little the bottom falls out and your sitting on the frame quick

You know what's even funnier. The engine / tranny combo on these is up there at 1500 lbs. My ENTIRE Samurai weighs in at 2100 lbs. Hell, I can use my ATV winch to yank that out.
Hehe......it's so cute.

Man no joke about the Samurai. Those things can wheel like no ones business!
Brother I've put that thing into places in 2WD w/ AT tires that my lifted, ARB locked, TSL sportin', V10 turnin' F250 couldn't make it through in 4WD. It's like skipping a stone across a lake.
If it does get stuck, you just grab a buddy and pick it up and move it out of the way.
That's why when guys ask about wheeling there trucks, first response is...............GET A CHEAP BEATER. It's so much more fun to wheel the snot outta something, not worry TOO much about breaking it, scratching it up, whatever. Wheel it, beat it, break it, throw it on the trailer and bring it home and fix it.

Yeah their light wieght and short wheelbase makes those things rock. I worked on a friends who put toyota axles on with 32s. A little short on power, but still a cool machine.
I tell ya what....this is the second Sami I've had...I've have BEAT THE ***** off of both of them and have never broken a thing, except the front output shafton this one. I mean I drive this thing worse than my Grizzly and this thing takes every bit of it. It has taken abuse that would absolutely shake other vehicles apart.
If you can find one on the cheap (mine was a Freebie), GRAB IT. It's like a street legal ATV.
