May, your a freggin nut!!!!! I go at the filter from the bottom with a filter socket from NAPA and 16 inches of extension. It works faster for me than pullin the air box off. Make sure to fill the filter up with oil before installing. The ***** at the Quicky lubes wont fill it up .

I take my oil filter off from above using one of those gripper typer oil filter wrenchs. They kinda have teeth on them.

I remove the air filter ( clean it while it's off ) and I wrap the old oil filter in a trash bag before un-doing it. I loosen it up with the wrench, and then I unwind it by hand letting it drop right into the bag.

No oil - no muss - no fuss

I fill up the new filter with new oil, hand tighten it on, and then give it about a 1/2 turn with the wrench and it's done. Before I put it on I run a bead of oil on the gasket first, but I remember reading here before about someone here who recomends putting grease on it. Say's it makes it easier to take it off later.I never tried it before, but I'd like to.

Anyone know what kinda grease to use??

I watched the guy at the stealer move the inner fender plastic out of the way and do it from the side of the truck.
