I had a problem where my truck would not go into tow/haul mode. The dealer had to replace the entire ECM.

Heres the funny thing ,the truck had the same problem about a year ago with some other problems ,so I took it in to the dealer ,they had the truck for a week and repaired the truck ,when I looked at the paper work they gave me back there was no mention about the repair for the tranny problem, they said there was nothing worng with it...the truck is now out of warranty(about 1,000 miles over warranty) so I have to fix it myself.

it does sound like an ECM issue. even though the CEL light is not on I would see if there are any codes on there. . .turn the key from off to run three times but DON NOT start and look where the odometer reads out, if it just says done there is nothing there, but if something does come up let us know.
