RE: Well the time has come...
Slug, I was a test engineer... been one since the early 90's and have been in electronics one way or another since high school (graduated from HS in '80)
I've been doing RE part time for the last 5 years earning an average of $30k over the 5 years. Mostly learning all I can and waiting for the opportunity to go full time. I figured they'd have to kick me out for me to do it so they finaly did. timing could not be better as it's right before spring... time enough for me to get my marketing in line and in the mail. I took 2 classes last year, 1 in Palm Springs & 1 in Vancouver Can. both were geared towards RE marketing. I'll attach an example of what i've done... all the pics are ones I took prior to upgrading cameras.
nope no inspections for me... gonna focus now on a specific area which looks to be an open marked (no one has a dominate share of it). With the photography thing, once the wheels are in motion, i'll have time on my hands... enough to get a business license and start a home photograpy business. not sure where that will go since it's a low income deal... (probably $60~75 bux a house).
from what the unemployment info says, I should be eligable for the max which is about $1900 bux/mo. that will make up about 1/3 of what was lost in income and savings will make up the rest... (thank god 1 of the rentals sold!)
anyways, the opportunity for me to do what I have always wanted to do is here and it'll be up to me to make it happen...
thanks guys!!! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Steve, you've got to be the happiest guy I ever heard of being laid off. I guess you don't expect them to call you back then huh?
What excuse did they use to lay you off ??

the company was bought several years back by another company and as of jan 1st they merged all the companies that the parent company owns into the main company and called them all divisions. any overlap between them was fat that needed to be trimmed. the thing with my position is nobody wants to learn the s/w I used so it'll be interesting for them down the road.
